Fediverse is thousands of programs like mastodon, peertube and more. I will try to talk about my personal experience with different federation software that i have used. In the said article. I find a new one every day.

All of these federation programs have one thing in common: there are three servers that run the software independently. Peertube, as the name suggests, something like youtube . Just really nail down on you. It is a video platform that is able to perform all the actions that youtube does, however, in a more minimalistic and private way.

It also has a lot of cool content creators. Many of them are little known, but still do very cool things. Not just about technology or gnu/linux.

Bad things:

Based on user experience, i would say that it looks insanely scary, but not beware. I'm pretty sure that if you can read this article, then you have a lot of opportunities to use peertube ;)

I can't find a great way to create a post with it without real software. However, i believe that people are not as spyware as odysee.Com.

Matrix

Definitely in demand in the foss chat client section as an excellent messenger platform whatsapp, discord, skype and fb/twiter. Matrix is ​​a joining software that comes with many features:

– Joining rooms– reaction emoticons– replies– creating chat messages– groups/ spaces (several chats are grouped together)- mention users- private chatmultiple clients

So this is everything in the matrix. Maybe you are in trouble if you need to use special software to communicate on a website. For sure, you personally have a way to reflect messages from a proprietary chat into a matrix. You just need to talk to the owner of the chat if you can put a mirror bot in there.

Another item the matrix has in stock is a lot of clients. You can find the client you like, meet your needs and become the foss software. One thing to keep in mind that you might not have thought of if you used proprietary chat before is that we offer the fact that what you send to a room is public. Bad things

not so much js bloatware matrix clients. I think you don't need to care how bloated the foss part is, like the matrix. But i think it's nice to have a more minimal client. Minimum clients i know of:

Great selection, but most of them have problems.

Mastodon/pleroma

Mastodon/pleroma is an alternative twitter or, in some cases, reddit. They are both pretty much the same, it's just that mastodon forces you to have a lower character limit. I think something has the merit to help you be really concise in what you're talking about. I think of mastodon/pleroma as a place for organized discussion of certain topics, as well as a job where you can notify readers about what you are doing in life. Mastodon/pleroma are two really great softwares that work very well together and on their own, as well as with other instances or other in the federation. People just don't have an excuse to keep using twitter. (I can't think of any)

Clients

Obviously, you are free to use whichever instance you specify that is used in your web browser. But it's definitely not cool and bloated. I'd rather have my own application on my machine that i manage. Among other things, i don't want it to be bloated javascript.

The options, as far as i understand, are minimal, but everything is fine. Note: i cannot guarantee that all of this will work on the pleroma. Eventually, they do. If checkouts don't work and you're using pleroma, think about it to report the issue to the repository for support :) @>- mastodon .El (the mastodon/pleroma package for emacs.)- Bloatfe (works through a browser window, but very lightweight.)

Invidious is an exceptionally lightweight theme. The software works nicely and a movie aficionado should take it!

Plume

Plume are places to temporarily store md papers. It must work, i have an account there, but its application does not allow me to publish articles without compressing them into one big line. The quieter ones all work. It looks like the plume is still in the early stages of development. One day i think it will be really good. It can be used at times, but you may have situations with it. Definitely works! This is a foss image board very similar to 4chan. Works cool only few film lovers. Asked 4chan why is still on proprietary 4chan, they said "all my friends are on it!" 4chan even decided to close the post! Absolutely terrible! Use fchan (combined channels).
